"Gainfully" Unemployed....

Yea, I know.....it's warped.....but although currently unemployed....I'm "gainfully" enjoying this time.  Although it's taken a few weeks to get to this moment.

I left my job with the VNA last month. Dec 15th was my last day.  It was uneventful, with the holidays upon us.  I squeezed everything I could into those last 10 days before Christmas.  The final few ornaments were hung on the tree just hours before Stayton arrived home for the Christmas weekend.  All in all....it was  a wonderful Christmas.
I made primerib dinner and we had dinner at my sister's house.

Was glad to see the last piece of Christmas candy leave the house, all the cookies are gone and me and the scales are not on speaking terms yet.....I had a few cruel words to say to it as I stepped on it.  Can't get this scale to lie either.....to the minutest ounce too!

Bowflex is calling my name.  The mind considers it and the body shuns it.
Dang!!! I refuse to buy another size of pants.

Told myself I was going to clean like crazy today and that could still happen....will have to pry myself away from this computer.  Got all crafty this morning and printed up a scripture verse to place in one of my many stored frames...sometimes I just need something new to look at.  Really would like to have the monster TV from the livingroom hauled to the dumpster.....that takes a 6-pack of men to move.

Badger certainly has the right idea.

That's one relaxed dog. I fell like I need to go do that myself. I've almost fallen asleep here at the computer several times. Now it's almost time to start dinner/supper. I know for sure we're having ham slices, candied sweet potatoes, and since the granddaughter doesn't like them I will make a package of mac and cheese for her. Pickled beets and salad. No dessert, I was too lazy to bake anything today and I figure we don't need dessert at every evening meal. Then again, I may whip up some brownies and they can be baking while we eat our supper and we'll all have a warm brownie after the table is cleared off. Hope your sister is doing ok. My younger of the two brothers just found out he has small cell carcinoma of his left lung. They told him no operation, but they will be starting chemo and radiation. That's what killed his wife about four years ago. but have always smoked heavy and the attribute this type of cancer to smoking. But she never stopped until she was put in Hospice. I think in her case she gave up, because their only son was killed in an auto accident, semi went left of center and hit him head on, about a year before she died. Their only daughter just had a double mastectomy about a year ago, but she also is still smoking and she also likes her beer. In other words she isn't taking very good care of herself. Her breast cancer was in one breast, nothing in the lymph nodes but her female doctor suggested she do the double surgery because of her age, and since then she's had them reconstructed. The doctor told her when a lumpectomy is done, too often it come back. I've had a lumpectomy now in both breast, and I went through the radiation. She didn't have to do any of that, but she had a sore chest for a while. Thanks again for your visit and hope you have a terrific New Year.
