My Office - My Sanctuary

This is my office, my sanctuary.  What was once Michael's bedroom serves as my special place.
I got this "almost perfect" chair as a freebie from a garage sale, they actually already had it loaded on the truck to take to the dump.  Except for a tiny little hole in one arm, after a thorough shampooing, it was just the chair I would have wanted and the color, mauve, one of my favorite.

The side table was Michael's.  See there on it, my pens and markers. A coaster for my coffee mug and a few magazines.  The bright pink item is my "spiral" book.  I keep scriptures and quotes that really speak to me.  Sometimes I just like to set down and go thru them again to remember that God speaks to me daily, thru scripture, reading, etc. On the front is a plastic sleeve that I usually put my most current one in or one that I really want to remember.  For now I have Proverbs 8:17 on Wisdom.

I love those who love me
And those who seek me diligently will find me.

You could really consider this to be about Wisdom and  The Lord.  They are one and the same.

There just behind my chair is my bookshelf, loaded with some of my favorite books, some read, some yet to be read.  I also have several on the floor, tucked in where I can easliy reach them.

One of my favorite things, the little wicker stool there beside my chair.  It's a great place to set my bible and comes in handly when I want to kick back and put my feet up.

Then there is the cabinet with my little lamp, another freebie.  Just the right light for my early morning devotions. Just behind it is a fragrance vase. It was a birthday gift from a sweet friend at church.  I love the fragrance that graces my quiet place when I here.  She gave birth to her 11th child this spring and recently I knew she was struggling with post partum.  I'm reminded to pray for her as I sat here each day.

The cabinet there once was a tall entertainment unit.  I cut it down to make a side cabinet for my study area. It fits perfectly under the window and provides mores storage and desktop.

Although very cluttered, I chose to include this as well.  This is where I'm sitting as you are reading.
Gosh, the camera really does "expose" you. There are some "memories" here.  I think about cleaning them off, and I have, but somehow somethings just can't be "put away".

I have had some very special moments here. And here is where many prayers go out to God for my children, grandchildren and friends.

We are always either drawing
near to God
or fallling away-
There is no holding pattern
(Fresh Wind Fresh Fire)

May God bless each of you who stopped by today!!!

You've really fixed a great place for quiet time. I wish I had such a place. I'm usually at the dining room table or sitting on my bed.
