This is just outside of our yard, I took it from my kitchen window.
The baby is still wet from birth and was very wobbly still.
A few days later while mowing that open area, my husband (Pat) came very
close to this little guy on the riding mower. I was able to get close for this photo.

There is also a small buck who comes in occasionally, he still has velvet antlers and is beautiful. We have enjoyed watching the deer in such a natural environment. We have a small
deck where we sit for hours enjoying the birds and deer, a rabbit now and then, chipmunks scurrying around gathering seeds and corn that has spilled from the feeders. Our newest
visitor is a large woodchuck. We have had over 50 head of elk take up residence around the haystack a few winters ago when the snow was so deep and food was very scarce.
From my window I have identified over 30 bird species, not counting the different variety of sparrows. I was able to add a Blue Heron just a few weeks ago, he didn't land here, but flew by and I had a good view of him.

You must live in a beautiful place. Do the deer ever jump the fence and eat things in your yard they shouldn't eat?
